Man And Van Rubbish Removal Across London
A man-and-van rubbish removal service combines collection, carrying, loading, transport and disposal in one booking. For customers with household clutter, bulky furniture, office contents or a mixed renovation clear-up, this can remove the need to arrange a skip, find somewhere to place it and load everything yourself.
The important part is to quote the job from the actual waste rather than a vague statement such as “one van”. Different vehicles have different capacities, and dense material can reach a legal weight limit before a cage is physically full. London Waste Van therefore uses load bands for suitable light and mixed waste, while heavy rubble and similar materials are assessed separately.

What We Can Remove
Household Rubbish
Bagged household contents, boxes, general clutter and agreed items from houses, flats and storage areas.
Furniture & Bulky Items
Wardrobes, tables, beds and other large items, with sofas and mattresses added using their specialist-item charges.
Landlord Waste
Abandoned contents, furniture and mixed tenancy waste where access and the collection scope are agreed in advance.
Office Contents
Desks, chairs, shelving, packaging and suitable non-hazardous office waste. Larger commercial jobs can be planned separately.
Garden & Garage
Outdoor clutter, broken furniture, bagged green waste and garage contents subject to the materials being suitable for the booked route.
Renovation Waste
Light mixed refurbishment waste can be collected; heavy rubble, soil and concrete need a weight-based assessment before booking.
Labour Is Part Of The Service
The main difference between a collection service and simply hiring a vehicle is labour. For standard quoted loads, the current included loading allowance is up to one hour for the minimum load, two hours for quarter and half loads, three hours for a three-quarter load and four hours for a full load. This is designed to cover a normal loading route when the waste and access match what was shown at quote stage.
Jobs that need a second labourer add £150 + VAT. Flats without a lift require two people from half-load upward, and loft clearances require two people. Where a two-person clearance runs beyond four hours, additional time is £100 + VAT per hour for both labourers. Long carries, difficult staircases and restricted parking should therefore be shown before the crew is scheduled.
London Access, Parking And Permits
Parking can make a major difference to the loading time in London. Send a photo or video of the nearest legal loading position and tell us if the road is controlled, gated or managed by a concierge. Where a visitor permit or parking authorisation is required, it needs to be issued for the vehicle. Parking tickets or PCNs incurred at the parking position required by the customer for the clearance are recharged under the booking terms.
For flats, include the floor number, lift size and whether the lift can be reserved. If there is no lift, say so when sending the quote request. For offices and managed blocks, provide any loading-bay or booking-window rules before the arrival time is agreed.
Specialist Items And Extra Charges
Some items cannot be treated as ordinary mixed rubbish because they need separate handling or disposal. Current additional charges include single mattresses at £30 + VAT, other mattress sizes at £40 + VAT, two-seat sofas at £60 + VAT, three-seat sofas at £75 + VAT, corner sofas at £90 + VAT, standard fridges/freezers at £40 + VAT and larger refrigeration at higher item rates. Tyres, paint pots and gas bottles also have separate charges.
Saturday or Sunday work adds £200 + VAT. A clearance starting after 5pm also adds £200 + VAT; if both conditions apply, both surcharges apply. These rules are built into the online rubbish removal estimator so the customer can see the planning total rather than discover the charge at the end.
Why Photos And Video Beat Guesswork
A pile described as “half a van” can mean very different things to different people. A slow video gives a much better picture of volume, large items, dense materials and the carrying route. For a flat, start at the waste and continue through the hall, stairs or lift to the main entrance. For a house or business, show every area included in the job and then the nearest practical loading position.
Once the scope is clear, the quote can be built around the right vehicle, crew and route. If the waste on arrival is materially different from what was shown, the scope should be re-agreed before loading rather than creating an argument after the work starts.
Man And Van Versus Council Collection
London Waste Van is a private clearance service and is not affiliated with a London borough council. Council bulky-waste services can be useful for eligible items when the customer can wait for the council's collection process and place items where required. A private man-and-van service is aimed at customers who want carrying/loading, multiple waste types, a wider scope or a faster appointment subject to availability.
