Construction Waste Without A Skip On Site
A wait-and-load cage van can be useful where there is no room for a skip, a permit would slow the job down or the waste is ready to leave immediately. Our crew loads the agreed material and removes it in the same visit, subject to access and safe loading.
This is not a one-price solution for every construction load. The key distinction is between light mixed waste and dense heavy material.
Light Mixed Waste Versus Heavy Material
Light mixed builders waste can include timber, cabinets, packaging, plastics, insulation offcuts, doors and general refurbishment debris. Dense loads include concrete, bricks, tiles, rubble, stone, wet plaster and similar material. A cage van can fill by weight long before it fills by volume.
Show the material clearly and provide bag counts or dimensions. Heavy loads may be limited, split across visits or routed to a grab or specialist vehicle. This protects safety, legality and the agreed price.
One-Off, Staged And Regular Collections
We can quote a single end-of-job clearance or a programme of staged collections. Regular trade customers should provide expected frequency, project postcodes, typical waste type, access times and who will authorise each collection.
Staged collections are useful during kitchens, bathrooms, extensions, roofing work, landscaping and commercial refurbishments because waste is removed before it blocks the next trade.
What Must Be Identified Before Booking
Plasterboard, insulation, paint, chemicals, sealants, gas bottles, batteries, refrigeration equipment, fluorescent lamps, sharp metal, asbestos-suspect products and contaminated waste must be identified. Do not hide restricted material in bags or beneath ordinary waste.
Unknown boards, lagging, textured coatings and old insulation should be treated cautiously. If asbestos is suspected, stop and use an appropriately qualified specialist.
Access And Loading Arrangements
Tell us whether the waste is loose, bagged, upstairs, at the rear of the property, behind scaffolding or across a long carry. We also need to know if parking is controlled, the road is narrow, the vehicle cannot stop outside or materials must be moved through a finished property.
For live sites, the contractor remains responsible for providing a safe loading area and keeping workers and the public away from the moving route.
Trade Proof And Paperwork
Where agreed, we can provide collection confirmation, invoices, waste-transfer information and before-and-after photographs. This helps contractors demonstrate that waste has left the site through a licensed carrier rather than being handed to an unknown collector.
Clear Volume Pricing For Suitable Loads
Our published cage-van prices are a useful starting point for ordinary, light and mixed waste. The final quote depends on the photographs or video, waste type, weight, access, parking, loading time, specialist items and the number of loads required. Heavy rubble, concrete, bricks, tiles, dense metal and other weight-led loads are assessed separately so the correct vehicle and disposal route can be planned.
Up to approx. 2-yard skip / estate-car boot space
Up to approx. 4-yard skip
Up to approx. 6–8-yard skip
Up to approx. 8–13-yard skip
Up to approx. 13–18-yard cage-van load
Important: these guide prices apply where the material, weight, access and loading time suit the selected load size. Sofas, mattresses, refrigeration equipment, tyres, paint, gas bottles and other specialist items can have additional disposal charges. We explain these before the collection is confirmed.
What To Send For An Accurate Quote
A clear photo or short video usually gives us the information needed to quote quickly. Please include:
- All waste from more than one angle, including anything hidden behind other items.
- The postcode and preferred collection date.
- Floor level, lift availability, stairs, narrow hallways, garden access or loading restrictions.
- Whether parking is directly outside and whether a loading bay, permit or concierge booking is required.
- Any very heavy, electrical, upholstered, refrigerated, liquid, sharp or unusual items.
- Whether items need dismantling before they can be removed.
Accurate information protects the agreed price and helps us send the right crew, vehicle and equipment.
Licensed And Responsible Waste Removal
London Waste Van operates as a licensed waste carrier. Collected material is taken through appropriate licensed waste and recycling routes. Commercial customers, landlords and trades can request the collection details needed for their records, including waste-transfer documentation where applicable.
We do not knowingly mix hazardous or restricted material into ordinary waste. Asbestos, clinical waste, unknown chemicals, fuel, pressurised containers and similar items must be disclosed before booking so we can confirm whether we can help or whether a specialist contractor is required.
